Epidemic War

In 1995, Cuban scientists demonstrated the dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) strains collected from the 1981 Cuban epidemic were genetically linked to the 1944 DHF epidemic in New Guinea. These results showed that the virus underwent genetical manipulation. The obvious suspect of the induced epidemic was the United States, an epidemic that caused 158 deaths, including 101 children [TeleSur Feb 1, 2016].

As we see with the 1981 DHF epidemic, the U.S. has used these weapons for its political ends. In 1946, the U.S. government, through the Paper clip operation, rescued, protected and hired 700 nazi scientists to work at the Army Biological Warfare Laboratories at Camp Detrick [RT Aug 8, 2014]. Among these scientists, two of them were George Merck and Eric Traub who took the task of studying the 40 most virulent strains to be weaponized. With this, by now, we know developed nations have energy, electromagnetic, radiologic, geophysical and genetic weapons at their disposal.

Consider, that back in 2014, U.S. researchers were able to bring back to life a 700 year old virus [RT 28 oct 2014]. It’s known that at least since the late 1970s, the Pentagon, through the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases, has studied and manipulated filoviruses like Ebola, among many others [EPJ AUGUST 7, 2014]. These filoviruses have a stable nature in aerosol state which makes them a potential biological weapon.

We must take into account the U.S was actively developing projects like the Toskigie experiments in the 1960’s on black Americans and the syphilis tests on Guatemalans back on 1946-1948. In fact, back in 2010, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had to offer apologies to Guatemala for those experiments [NBC 10/1/2010]. But, these are just two episodes of multiple criminal experiments that the U.S. has undertaken to develop new biological weapons [RT 4 may 2015]. Although, they justify all of those projects as a matter of research for public health to develop cures.

Take into account, Ebola, Antrax, the Occidental Nile Virus, SARS, the avian flu, H1N1, Ebola, Chikungunya and now zika, all of them appeared at very convenient political points. For example, in March 2009, massive protests were taking place in Mexico against president Calderon, when suddenly an outbreak of the H1N1 put to rest all of those protests as a matter of public safety.

Now, let’s consider another important dimension of this issue of epidemics and that is the financial incentive for pharmaceuticals. For this we have to get back to the Laboratories at Camp Detrick. Camp Detrick has proven to be deeply linked to the pharmaceuticals. At every outbreak, the pharmaceuticals companies have cashed huge profits. However, due to political interest, these companies may cut the supply line of its products. At the time of the 2014 Chikungunya outbreak, there was an important shortage of acetaminofen in Venezuela [Correo del Orinoco 22 noviembre 2014]. We should know Acetaminofen is an important medicament to cure the symptoms of the Chikungunya virus.

Now, back in 2012, Oxitec, a biotechnological corporation, introduced genetically modified insects in Brazil and Colombia – both of them, are countries that surround Venezuela. The idea behind this was to eliminate dengue. However, as we can see, the opposite effect took place, since, first Chikungunya and now Zica showed up exactly at the same zones were Oxitec implanted their modified insects [TeleSur January 31 2016]. At first, the outbreak of microcephaly in Brazil of December of 2015 were blamed on the Zika virus but now it seems a Monsanto insecticide is to blame for the outbreak [TYT Feb 15, 2016]. However, the supply of medicament is limited in certain countries, specially in Venezuela. This situation, along with a very intense economic war against that country, is causing major in satisfaction in the population. Like in the case of the 1985 DHF outbreak in Cuba, the Zika and Chikungunya viruses along with the medicaments shortage, seem to play the role of a political weapon to depose the left leaning government in Venezuela.
