Why does the innocent have to pay

for the ambition of the mighty ones?

Why do they have to subjugate

and be obedient to tyrants?

How many more poor people’s children

have to enrolled in the army

to be prepared to be assassins

to fulfill the ego for supremacy?

How many more orphans

and how many more widows

does our nation need on the streets

to realize we don’t need dead heroes?

How many more medals and recognitions

do we need to bestow to our soldiers

for killing innocents without mercy.

to finally turn around and stay home?

How many more veterans

have to become homeless

dying for lack of health care

or just by committing suicide?

How many more marches and protests

Does the government have to see

so they listen to our claims

that we don’t support this slaughter?
